We are all products of our mentors, elders, parents, and teachers. Czaplewski is privileged to have known Charles A. Repenning as a mentor long ago. Like so many other graduate students in vertebrate paleontology, Rep gave me his time often when I was a greenhorn graduate student trying to figure out how to practice the discipline. Hopefully he would be proud of some of the work I've done, especially the papers to which I contributed in this volume in his honor. Thanks, Rep. I'm trying to follow your example. Czaplewski is curator of vertebrate paleontology at the Oklahoma Museum of Natural History, Norman, Oklahoma. |
