Dennis Ruez is an Assistant Professor at the University of Illinois at Springfield, where he chairs the Department of Environmental Studies and performs many other administrative roles that reduce the time available for research.  Dennis received his Ph.D. from The University of Texas at Austin, M.S. from the University of Florida, and B.S. from Murray State University.  His research is currently focused on ecosystem evolution as reflected in Neogene mammals.
